Blayney is located 30 km south east of Orange. Settlement in the Blayney area dates back to 1800s. In 1837 a mill, an Inn and a few houses were all that occupied the village. By 1843 the village was gazetted and the population grew with the discover of gold in the region. The Railway came to Blayney in 1874 connecting the western area to Sydney.
Today Blayney is home to a rail freight terminal that provides transport throughout Australia and several large manufacturing and industrial processing plants,
